Click Through Rate (CTR)

The CTR or click through rate comes from your analytics, such as Google Analytics, and is a formula to determine the ratio of the number of visitors to your website to the number of visitors who clicked a certain link on your website. The formula is very important to web designers and marketers. If a website has a low or no click-through rate, it could indicate a problem in the HTML, an issue with the (dot)htaccess, or web hosting. Javascript, or another coding on the website. Marketers use the click-through rate also in order to correct issues and perform optimization that may increase sales by changing the location of the link, the appearance of the link, the path to reach the link, and how the link is identified. An extremely high click-through rate can also indicate an issue with the web application or with web hosting software.
