What you need before you start
You need two things: a domain name and a hosting account. The domain is your address on the web. Hosting is the computer that stores your site.

Install WordPress in minutes
These steps take about 2 minutes once you have your hosting account.
Log in to your control panel
Use the login details we sent you when you bought hosting.
Open the installer
Find the one-click installer and choose WordPress.
Fill in four fields
The installer asks only for your username, password, email and the title of your site.
Click Install
The install takes about 30 seconds. You then get a link to your new site and to the WordPress login.
Log in and add content
Go to Pages > Add New to write your first page. Add your text, photos and menu.
Set your home page
To make a page your home page in WordPress, add a post or page first. Then go to Settings, then Reading, and use the dropdown to choose your front page.
Pick a static page, not your latest posts, if you want a business home page. Save the change and visit your site to check it.

Common mistakes after the install
The first mistake is leaving the default sample page and sample post on the site. Delete them in Pages > All Pages and Posts > All Posts so visitors never see them.
The second mistake is skipping a strong password. Pick a long password that you do not use anywhere else. Our hosting includes free SSL and daily backups, so your work is safe.
The third mistake is skipping the phone check. Open your site on a phone before you tell anyone about it. Menus and photos that look fine on a computer can look cramped on a small screen.
