How Do I Edit Text in WordPress?

In this tutorial, we will discuss how to edit the text using the WordPress CMS framework. Editing text is the fundamental part of adding a post or page on your WordPress website. If you have used Microsoft Word in the past, then you are familiar with most of the functions of the WordPress, text editor.

When you perform your edits on a page or post, they are the text editor. The information that is covered here can be used for writing for both your pages and post. To begin, click on the pages or post button that is located on the left-hand side of the dashboard.

Optionally, you can add a new page or post. If you are editing a current page or post, click on the title, or hover over the page or post and click “Edit” that is located on the action menu below the page or post title. Now, you should be on the editing page. Click in the white box of where you would like your text, and a cursor will appear, and then begin typing in your text. Above the white box is the text editor buttons are located.

Again, most of the text editing buttons are similar to your standard word processor. For example, if you highlight your text, and then click the “B” button or bold button, the highlighted text will now be bold. The Italics button works the same way by italicizing whatever text that you have highlighted. We don’t use the alignment buttons very often, but to align right, left, or center, click the respective alignment buttons. The editor provides you with a general idea of what your page or post will look like, but to preview your page or post, click the “Preview” button that is located on the right-hand side of your screen. If you are ready for your text to go live on your website, click “Publish”, and your page or post will go live immediately.
