Yes, you can. You can buy your domain name from GoDaddy, or any other company, and still host your website with us. You only change the name servers to ns1.websnoogie.com and ns2.websnoogie.com.

Your domain and your hosting can live in two places

A domain name is your website address. Hosting is the computer that stores your website files. They are two separate products.

Many of our clients bought their domain from another company. That is fine. You can buy your domain from any company and still point it to Websnoogie web hosting.

Once you change your name servers, the changes you make in your hosting account show up when you visit your website.

How to point your GoDaddy domain to Websnoogie

You only change one setting. Your domain stays registered at GoDaddy.

  1. Sign in where you bought the domain

Log in to your GoDaddy account and open the list of your domains.

  2. Open the name server settings

Pick the domain you want to use, then find the DNS or Nameservers section.

  3. Choose your own name servers

Pick the option to enter custom name servers instead of the default ones.

  4. Enter our name servers

Type ns1.websnoogie.com and ns2.websnoogie.com. Remove the old name servers.

  5. Save the change

Click Save. Within a short time, your website address points to your Websnoogie hosting.

What name servers do

Name servers tell the internet where your website lives. Think of them as a signpost. When someone types your address, the signpost sends them to our server.

Changes to name servers do not show everywhere at once. Some people see the new setting within minutes. Others may wait several hours.

What you pay with two companies

You will get two separate annual bills. One comes from GoDaddy for the domain. One comes from Websnoogie for the hosting.

Hosting costs $149 a year for CMS (WordPress) sites and $129 a year for non-CMS sites. Both include free SSL, daily backups and security monitoring.

Keep track of both renewal dates. If the domain expires at GoDaddy, your website goes offline even though your hosting is paid.

Want one bill instead?

Many clients prefer that we host their domain so they receive a single bill. We sell domain names too.

A domain plus CMS hosting is $173.99. That is $24.99 for the domain plus $149 for hosting.

If you already own a domain at GoDaddy, you can keep it there. You can also ask us how to move it later. Our web design team can build your website for $300, with up to 5 pages plus a contact page.

If you want help with the settings, call us at 402-813-4034 any day from 7 am to 10 pm. We are happy to help you in Omaha and beyond.
