Our WordPress tutorial series shows you how to use, maintain and design with WordPress, one task at a time. Each lesson is short and has numbered steps. Start with the ones below, then browse the full list.
What the series covers
WordPress is the most popular blog and website platform in the world. It lets you edit your own pages without writing code.
Each tutorial shows one task, from adding a page to adding an image. Our goal is to make building your WordPress website easier and more fun.

Update WordPress safely
Before you change anything, back up your site. Our hosting makes a daily backup, so you can always ask us to restore one.
Then open Dashboard > Updates. Update WordPress, your plugins and your themes.
Update one item at a time if you can. If the site breaks, you will know which update caused it.

More topics in the series
We also show you how to add a heading, make a list, build an image gallery and manage comments. Each one takes only a few minutes to read.
You will find them on the tutorials page with new lessons added over time. Read them in any order.
Plugins add features such as contact forms. WordPress works well for a small business website.
How to use the series
Pick the task you need today and follow the numbered steps. Each lesson stands on its own, so you do not have to read them in order.
Try each task on a draft page first. Nothing goes live until you click Publish, so you can practice safely.
If you get stuck, note the exact step and what you saw on the screen. That detail helps us help you faster.
Keep your login details handy before you start. Most lessons begin at your dashboard, so you will need your username and password.
Why WordPress suits a small business
You own your content and you can change it any time. You do not need to wait for a developer to fix a typo or add a new price.
Plugins add features such as contact forms. A good host keeps the system fast and backed up, so you can focus on your customers.
